Climate Action Solutions Incubator Program
The Innovation & Business Engagement Hub’s Climate Action Solutions Incubator Program provides small-scale supplemental project funding and access to capacity-building workshops and mentorship in order to advance action-oriented solutions being developed at UC Santa Cruz that have the potential to address one or more of California’s most pressing climate challenges.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a maximum of $20,000 awarded to selected projects.

Blackstone LaunchPad 2025 Summer Internship Program
Slug Tank (occurred in Feb. 2024, planned for next year)
Slug Tank is a startup pitch event organized and put on by the Student Creativity and Entrepreneurship Empowerment (SCEE) group on campus.
Slug Tank is a great opportunity where you can pitch your business and startup ideas. Presentations will be judged by experienced entrepreneurs and investors. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. Slug Tank provides the opportunity to help you test the viability of your ideas and receive valuable feedback.
UC Santa Cruz – Nucleate Innovation Fellowship (Recently offered in 2024, will be offered again)
Gain hands-on experience in life sciences innovation and entrepreneurship through this partnership with Nucleate. Fellows work on independent projects, network with peers and industry experts, and receive mentorship from academic and industry professionals.

Join this one-year, full-time research training program for early-career individuals passionate about exploring the frontiers of AI and biology. Apprentices collaborate with a diverse team and receive exposure to various disciplines.

Venturewell E-Team Program (Applications open)
Startup founders receive funding, training, mentorship, recognition, and networking opportunities through this program.
The E-Team Program, part of the VentureWell Accelerator, supports student ventures as you embark down the path you’re likely to take as an innovator and entrepreneur. We help you advance your invention through a powerful mix of up to $25,000 in grant funding, entrepreneurship training, mentorship by dedicated staff, national recognition, and networking with peers and industry experts.
Do you have an idea that can change the world? Every year, we award over $800,000 in non-dilutive E-Team grants to early-stage innovator teams that develop scalable innovations which aim to solve a large social, health, or environmental challenge.
